|  | | | Critical TechWorks is in charge of BMW's autonomous driving. Space modelling, road mapping and automatic braking are some of the projects under development in Lisbon and Porto.
With more than two years of activity and more than 54 projects delivered to the German manufacturer, of which stands out the Operating System 7 and the new applications for BMW and MINI, Critical TechWorks is now looking for junior and senior profiles to join these teams who are aligned with the company's values.
The company has attracted about 1000 employees in these two and a half years of operation and, according to the new projects already identified, the goal, by the end of 2021, is to hire another 400 employees, reaching 1400 people. |

| | | The Digital House, a product-centric organization and a joint initiative of Mercedes-Benz AG and Mercedes-Benz.io, will strengthen its product teams in the capital city.
The Lisbon site will become the development core unit, where a dedicated team will be focused on scalable product organization, vehicle leads, and sales-generating products.
More than 100 additional digital product development positions will be established at Mercedes-Benz.io in Lisbon.

| | | With the expansion of their site in Barcelos, Portugal, Swiss-based Beck Automation AG is expanding their international production capacities in the country.
Since 2016, the company has been manufacturing IML automation solutions in the north of Portugal. Due to the increasing demand, Beck Automation decided to rebuild and expand the manufacturing site.
Furthermore, most of Beck Automation's suppliers are in the north of Portugal. "The Portuguese location has improved cooperation with our suppliers. In Barcelos, we found a very good overall package, with suppliers who speak our language and have our Swiss understanding of quality”, explains Nando Spalinger, General Manager Portugal.

| The capsule responsible for the safe transport and return to Earth of the samples collected by NASA’s robot was made by Portuguese engineering. It was developed at ISQ, PIEP and Stratosphere (AED Cluster members), along with Amorim Cork Composites.
This consortium developed a shield system for thermal protection and shock absorption on landing which turned out to be a success in February 2021.
