TRYBA SA is building a new factory in Famalicão

TRYBA SA will be present in Portugal with a new factory dedicated to the production of high-performance windows and doors in Aluminum and PVC and Bioclimatic Pergolas, with its own production of double glazing. The new factory will be one of the biggest and most technologically advanced in Europe to work in this sector.
Access to qualified human resources in this area and proximity to Universities were key factors in choosing Portugal to host this investment that will amount to approximately 50 million euros and that will create more than 200 new jobs by 2025.

Mollie announces Lisbon Development Hub

The Dutch fintech unicorn Mollie has just announced the opening of a development hub in Lisbon. Until 2023, Mollie expects to hire 100 employees packed with engineering skills.

Atento and ManpowerGroup partner to offer multilingual customer service and RPA services

Atento, the leading CRM and BPO services company in Latin America, and ManpowerGroup, a global leader in Talent Strategy, announced a strategic alliance to offer multilingual Customer Service services, in addition to robotic process automation technologies (RPA) for the corporate market. With this agreement, both companies expect to enable more than 2,000 customer service positions in centres located in Portugal and Spain.

Natixis in Portugal is recruiting 400 employees this year

Natixis in Portugal, which has its Centre of Excellence in Porto, intends to hire 400 professionals with different levels of expertise in the fields of Banking, Finance, Economics, Management, Law and Information Technologies. Among these 400 positions there are vacancies for junior profiles, as part of the “We want your brain” campaign aimed at young professionals who are suitable for IEFP professional internships.
Natixis placed its IT Centre of Excellence in Porto, in 2017, to internalise its technology services and provide IT support to the bank’s services around the world. Initially, the project aimed at recruiting 640 employees. However, currently, Natixis in Portugal has already 1200 employees from 21 countries.

Skyline opens a second office in Portugal

Skyline Communications, Belgium-originating supplier of multi-vendor network management and orchestration software solutions for the broadband and media industry, has recently opened a second Portuguese office in Aveiro.
To allow for further expansion of their Portugal team they moved into the PCI Creative Science Park, a new location that features both a calmer environment and great co-working opportunities and proximity to the University of Aveiro.

Portugal is EU’s largest producer of bicycles
 
 
According to 2020 data released by Eurostat, Portugal is the largest bicycle producer in the EU for the second consecutive year, with a total production of 2.6 million units. Despite the pandemic and the disruptions in the worldwide supply of components for this industry, the response to market demands remained strong. Even with fewer bicycles produced than the previous year, the country recorded an increase in exports from 400 million euros to 425 million (+6.25%).

Foreigners in Portugal reach highest number ever



The foreign population living in Portugal increased in 2020 for the fifth consecutive year, 12.2% more compared to 2019, and totalling 662,095 citizens - the highest value recorded by the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF).
Though Brazilians remain the main foreign community residing in the country, there has been a sustained growth of foreign citizens from EU countries.
Attractiveness factors such as safety, quality of life, tax advantages and an increasing number of job opportunities are among the most mentioned reasons by this new wave of newcomers.
