| |  | | French Group Beneteau, a leading company in the boating industry and one of the world’s top yacht builders, is creating a production center dedicated to powerboats under 40 feet in the Northern Viana do Castelo region, through the acquisition and expansion of 2 shipyards. Production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2022. In the future, Beneteau expects to produce around 1000 boats per year and to employ around 700 people in Portugal. | | | | Pellenc is opening a new plant in Central Portugal

| |  | | French Group Pellenc, known for its machinery, equipment and tools for specialized agriculture, announced the establishment of a greenfield manufacturing plant in Mira, a central coastal municipality in Portugal. The company plans to start production by the end of Summer 2022 and to employ up to 250 people in the medium term.

| Deloitte launches two global Centres of Excellence in Portugal

| |  | | Deloitte announced the creation of two new technological centres of excellence in Portugal, focused on Global Technology Solutions and Global Telecom Networks. The former will be designing and delivering complex digital transformation projects, whilst the latter will host Deloitte's first worldwide laboratory for the prototyping of sector solutions based on 5G, and further include a cybersecurity center. These two hubs are expected to create 1,500 to 2,000 jobs over the next 4 years. Teams will be based in Lisbon, Porto, Viseu, Braga, Coimbra, Faro, Leiria and Setúbal. | | | | Reaktor opens a new Hub in Lisbon

| Helsinki-based Reaktor, a leading Nordic international technology consultancy, announced the opening of a new office in Lisbon and plans to hire over 100 people. “With an ambitious and talented tech community, easy access to both Central Europe and the United States, and a competitive international business scene, Lisbon was the natural choice of location for the next chapter of Reaktor’s story”, according to the company.

|  | | Volkswagen will invest another €500 million in Autoeuropa, its car factory in Palmela, Portugal over the next five years, in product, equipment and infrastructure. “This factory and its team are prepared to successfully accompany the transformation of the automotive industry”, stated Alexander Seitz, member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen brand.
