Avenue Code opens a Delivery Centre in Lisbon

San Francisco-based software consultancy company Avenue Code, part of UOL Group, just announced the opening of a delivery centre in Lisbon to serve the global market. Avenue Code’s Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Zeo Solomon, stated that the executive team selected Portugal for multiple reasons: "Portugal enjoys a high ranking on the quality-of-life index. Its government's visa schemes and incentives for entrepreneurs have attracted top talent from around the globe".

Intellias inaugurates first office in Porto

Intellias, a global technology partner to Fortune 500 enterprises, has launched an engineering centre in Porto. Operating in Portugal since 2022, Intellias now held the inauguration ceremony of its first office, which will also serve as the company's headquarters in the country. Intellias plans to have around 100 engineers in Portugal by the end of 2023.

Siemens establishes new hub in Portugal

Siemens chose Portugal for its Digital Industries Inside Sales hub, which will cover markets such as the UK, Sweden, Norway and Poland, and is expected to reach 30 professionals. Alf Franzoni, Head of Global Business Services for Western Europe and Africa, highlights the reasons for choosing Portugal for this project: the quality of human resources, the macroeconomic and fiscal stability, the quality of the education system, the language skills and openness towards other cultures. |

Tire manufacturer Continental inaugurated a new solution centre in Lousado, Portugal, in the vicinity of the tire plant, to provide global support in digital tire solutions, e-commerce and Industry 4.0 applications. The company is recruiting specialists from the fields of IT, artificial intelligence and applied analytics, e-commerce and industrial engineering, to reach 160 employees by 2026.

Swedish Transcom Worldwide AB opened a second site in Porto (the third in Portugal) and will add 300 employees to the 520 it already employs in the country. This contact centre will be a multilingual hub serving national and international clients in several languages.
